Özet
Ortodonti alanında yumuşak doku ile ortodontik tedavinin ilişkisini araştıran oldukça az sayıda çalışma mevcuttur. Bionator ve Jusper Jumper dizayn ve etki şekli olarak oldukça farklı aygıtlardır. Bu iki tedavi yöntemi karşılaştıran bir çalışma gösterilecektir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Bionator ve Jasper Jumper ile tedavi edilen bireylerin elde edilen yumuşak doku değişikliklerinin kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırılmasıdır. Grubumuz 43 iskeletsel ve dental Sınıf II, bölüm 1 hastadan oluşmaktadır. Her iki cinsiyet de çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Jasper Jumper ile tedavi edilen hastalardan elde edilen 22 seri sefalometrik röntgen, Bianator ile tedavi edilen hastalardan elde edilen 11 sefalometrik röntgen Sınıf II malokluzyona sahip tedavi edilmemiş 10 hastadan alınan seri röntgenlerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Aşağıdaki sonuçlar elde edilmiştir: 1. Kontrol grubuyla karşılaştırıldığında tedavi edilmiş grupta yumuşak doku profilinde gelişme olmuştur. Tedavi edilen grup Z açısında, H açısında, yumuşak doku yüz açısında, yumuşak doku açısında, alt dudak sulcus açısında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı değişiklikler göstermiştir. 2. Bianator ve Jusper Jumper uygulanan hastalarda tüm açılarda önemli değişiklik elde edilmemiştir. 3. Yumuşak doku açısı, H açısı ve Z açısı artışında bianator ve kontrol grupları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. 4. Her iki grupta da alt dudak açısında kontrollere göre önemli artış olmuştur.

Few studies are found in the orthodontic literature in which an attempt has been made to relate orthodontic treatment to the soft-tissue profile. As the Bionator and the Jasper Jumper are quite different appliances in design and, possibly, mode of action, a study comparing the two treatment methods would be warranted (23). The purpose of this study was to examine and compare the soft tissue changes that occur as a result of treatment with the Bionator and Jasper Jumper with the comparison of control group. The samples have 43 skeletal and dental Class II Division 1 malocclusions. Both sexes included in the study. Serial cephalometric radiographs from 22 patients who had been treated with the Jasper Jumper appliance and from 11 patients who had been treated with the Bionator appliance were compared with serial radiographs of 10 untreated persons with Class II malocclusions. The following results were obtained: 1. There was improvement in soft tissue profile in the treated group when compared with the control group. Treated group showed statistically significant changes in the Z angle, H angle, soft tissue facial angle, soft tissue angle and Inferior labial sulcus angle. 2. There was no significant difference in the changes in all the angles between bionator and jasper jumper groups. 3. The increase of Soft tissue angle, H-angle and Z-angle between the bionator and the control groups was insignificant. 4. The two treatment groups showed significant increase in Inferior labial angle when compared with the control group.
