Özet
Bu çalışmada, hikâye haritası yönteminin okuduğunu anlama düzeyine etkisiaraştırılmıştır. Ayrıca bununla ilişkili olan 17 alt probleme de cevap aranmıştır. Buaraştırma deneysel bir çalışma olarak plânlanmıştır. Araştırma, `son-test ölçümlü'desen kullanılarak, 17'si deney, 17'si kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 34 denek ileyapılmıştır. Araştırmanın denekleri, 2004-2005 eğitim ve öğretim yılında DoğancıAyşe Yılmaz Becikoğlu lköğretim Okulu ve Dağkent-Kıroğlu Eğitim ve SağlıkVakfı lköğretim Okulu 8. sınıf öğrencilerinden seçilmiştir.Önceden seçilmiş yedi hikâye, yedi haftalık bir süreçte, deney grubundahikâye haritası yöntemiyle, kontrol grubunda ise geleneksel yöntemle işlenmiştir.Deneysel çalışmanın sonunda, hikâye haritası yönteminin okuduğunu anlamadüzeyine etkisini saptamak amacıyla, her iki gruba da 16 soruluk bir sınavuygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerle, deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerininokuduğunu anlama düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığı SPSSprogramında t-testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda deney grubu lehineanlamlı bir fark bulunmuş; hikâye haritası yönteminin okuduğunu anlama düzeyinegeleneksel yönteme göre daha etkili olduğu saptanmıştır.

In this study, the effect of story mapping on reading comprehension wasexamined. Answers for the 17 sub-problems, which are related to this were alsoinvestigated. This study was organised as an experimental study. In the study, as thedesign model ?post-test? design was applied to 34 subjects; 17 of which areexperimental group and 17 of which are control group. The subjects of the studywere selected from the eight grade students of Doğancı Ayşe Yılmaz BecikoğluPrimary School and Dağkent-Kıroğlu Education and Health Foundation PrimarySchool in 2004-2005 Educational Year.In the experimental group, seven stories, chosen beforehand, were studied bymeans of story mapping method in a seven-week period. In the same process, thesame stories were studied by means of traditonal method in the control group. At theend of the experimental study, a test composed of 16 questions was applied to bothgroups in order to determine the effect of storymapping on the level of readingcomprehension. The data obtained were analyzed by means of t-test in SPSS in orderto find out whether there was a significant difference between the levels of readingcomprehension of experimental group and control group. As a result of the analysis,a significant difference in the advantage of experimental group was found; it wasdetermined that storymapping method is more effective than the traditional methodat the level of reading comprehension.
