Özet
Bu çalışmada, 1999-2004 yılları arasında yapılan ÖSS'de sorulan biyolojisorularının, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde öğrenimlerini devam ettiren birinci sınıföğrencilerinin, bazı sosyo-ekonomik faktörlere göre başarı düzeylerikarşılaştırılmıştır.Öğrencilerin anket ve ÖSS Başarı Testi'ne verdikleri cevapların istatistikianalizleri yapılmıştır. Başarı düzeyinin öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerine, bölümlerine,ÖSS'den aldıkları puanlara, lise türlerine, alanlarına, mezun oldukları bölgelere,dershaneye gidip gitmeme durumlarına, anne-babanın eğitim seviyesine, gelirdurumları ve kardeş sayılarına göre anlamlı bir farklılık gösterip göstermedikleriaraştırılmıştır.Araştırma, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde öğrenimlerini devam ettiren İlköğretimMatematik Öğretmenliği, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği, Sınıf Öğretmenliği ileOrtaöğretim Fizik Öğretmenliği, Kimya Öğretmenliği, Biyoloji Öğretmenliğiöğrencilerini kapsamaktadır. Hazırlanan kişisel bilgiler anketi ve 1999 - 2004 ÖSSBiyoloji sorularından konularına göre seçilen 25 soruluk ÖSS Başarı Testi, bubölümlerde okuyan öğrencilere uygulanmıştır.Sonuç olarak, öğrencilerin başarı düzeylerinin, okudukları bölümler,ÖSS'den aldıkları puanlar, mezun oldukları alanlar, dershane durumu, gelir durumuanne-baba eğitim seviyesi ve kardeş sayısı bakımından anlamlı farklılıklar gösterdiği;cinsiyet, lise türü, mezun oldukları bölge bakımından anlamlı bir farklılıkgöstermediği görülmüştür.

In this study, the achievement levels of freshman students pursuing their educations inthe Faculty of Gazi Education in Gazi University were compared by employing biyology testquestions asked in Student Selection Exams between 1999-2004 years,according to somesocio-economic factors.Main statistical methods to analyze data collected in this study were t-test and one-way ANOVA tests. Additionally, in t-tests and one-way ANOVA tests, the independentvariables of the study are genders, departments, the scores taken from Student Selection Test,high school types, their fields, the geographic regions that they were graduated, theirattendance to preparation courses offered by the private institutions to the university test, theirparents? educational and income levels and the number of the siblings.The sample of study covers the freshman students coming from the departments ofMathematics Education, Science Education, Elementary Education, as well as Physics,Chemistry and Biology Education. As a scale of this study, an achievement test with 25 itemsselected from Biyology Questions asked in Student Selection Exams between 1999-2004 wereprepared to assess science, math and elementary major freshman students? achievementlevels. According to biology topics, the distributions of biology questions used in this studymeets the frequency of main biology topics asked in the Student Selection Exams.In the result, there are some statistically mean differences observed in the kind ofdepartments, student?s success levels, scores taken from Student Selection Test, their fieldand attendance to a private institution for preparing the test, their parents? educational andincome levels and the number of siblings showing a meaningful difference, it was observedthat there happened no differency in the factors such as gender, high school type and regionalgraduation places.
