SINIF ÖĞRENC LER N N SOSYAL B LG LER DERS NÜFUS VEYERLEŞME KONUSUNDA GEÇEN KAVRAMLARI ANLAMA DÜZEYLERVE KAVRAM YANILGILARIFatih ÇAKMAKlköğretim Anabilim DalıAfyonkarahisar Kocatepe Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü,Eylül 2006Danışman: Prof. Dr. Hakkı YAZICIBazı önemli coğrafya ve tarih kavramlarının temelleri ilköğretim sosyal bilgilerdersinde atıldığı için, bu seviyede öğrenciye verilebilecek her türlü yanlış ve hatalı bilgi,öğrencide bu kavramlarla ilgili yanılgılar oluşmasına neden olmaktadır.Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler dersindeki ?nüfus ve yerleşme?konusunda, 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin anlama düzeylerini belirleyip sahip oldukları kavramyanılgılarını tanımlamak ve ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu çalışma 2006 yılının bahar döneminde,biri köy, üçü merkez okul olmak üzere toplam dört ilköğretim okulundaki 191 öğrenci ilegerçekleştirilmiştir.Araştırmanın hipotezleri t-testi ve varyans analizi kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Verilerinanaliz edilmesiyle, öğrencilerin nüfus ve yerleşme konularıyla ilgili kavram yanılgılarınasahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. statistikler sonucunda; veli eğitim durumlarına göre lise veüstü okul mezunu olan velilerin çocuğu ile ilkokul mezunu olan velilerin çocuğunun başarılarıarasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca farklı eğitimbölgelerindeki okullara göre öğrencilerin başarı yüzdeleri arasında da yine istatistiksel olarakanlamlı bir şekilde fark ortaya çıkmıştır.

This study was made in the spring session of 2006 with 191 students at thesixth grade in four primary schools one of which is in a village and three of them are in thecity centre.With analyzing the datum, it was determined that students have misconceptions aboutthe subjects ?population and settlement?. Moreover, according to the educational status of theparents of students and the schools from different regions of education, an importantdifference came out among the percentage of the success of students in the test about thesubject ?population and settlement?.
