Özet
ÖZETBu çalışmada, tarih boyunca Anadolu'da pek çok kültür ve medeniyetin odak noktasıolan ve Hıristiyanlık için önemli merkezlerden biri olma özelliği taşıyan Kayserikentine bağlı Germir Köyünde inşa edilmiş kiliseler gerek tarihi gerekse mimaribakımdan değerlendirilerek incelenmiştir.Tez kapsamında öncelikle, Osmanlının sondöneminde sayıları artan ve bir çoğu XIX.yüzyıla tarihlenen Kayseri kiliseleriaraştırılmıştır. Ana konumuz olan Germir Köyü'ne ait toplam üç adet kiliseprojelendirilerek mimari özellikleri belirlenmiş ve bu yapıların korunarak çağdaşyaşam içinde sürekliliğinin sağlanması amacına yönelik örnek oluşturması açısından?Panagia Kimisis-tis Theotoku Kilisesi? ile ilgili koruma önerisi hazırlanmıştır.Toplam beş bölümden oluşan çalışmada bütünü anlatmaya yönelik olarak öncelikledin kavramı ele alınmış, dini inanış için yapı yapma ihtiyacının mimariyi nasıletkilediği ortaya konmuş, içinden ana konumuzla ilişkili olan Hıristiyan inanışınınmimariye yansımaları genelden özele doğru incelenmiştir. Bu basamaklaranlatılırken kiliselerin Kayseri'deki varlığı mimarinin yanı sıra tarihçe içerisinde dedeğerlendirilmiş ve bu kapsamda incelenen kiliselerin tarihlendiği XIX. yüzyılOsmanlısında gayrimüslimlerin durumuna ilişkin tespitler yapılmıştır.Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde, ?Din kavramı, Mimarideki Yeri ve Kiliseler? anabaşlığı ele alınmış, burada din kavramı ve ibadet yapılarının tarih içerisinde mimariaçıdan değişimine değinildikten sonra, ?Kilise Tanımı, Kavramı, Kapsamı ve MimariÖzellikleri? alt başlığında, ana konumuza sağlıklı veri tabanı oluşturması açısındankilisenin tanımı, kilise olgusu ve kilise yapısının sosyal yaşamla ilişkisi ile kiliseyapısının mimari özellikleri anlatılmıştır. Kilisenin mimari yapısı ana hatlarıylaanlatıldıktan sonra ana konumuzu oluşturan Germir Kiliselerinin de dahil olduğuDoğu Kiliselerinin mimari özelliklerine ağırlık verilmiştir.?Kayseri ve Germir Kiliseleri? ana başlığı altında incelenen ikinci bölümde iseöncelikli olarak Kayseri Kentinin özelliklerine ve gayrimüslimler açısından neşekilde değerlendirildiğine yer verilmiştir. Burada amaç, Germir Kiliselerinin deiçinde bulunduğu Kayseri Kiliselerinin dolayısıyla gayrimüslim ibadet yapılarınınKayseri'deki konumu ve işleyişine açıklık getirerek mimarisinin tanıtılmasıdır. Dahasonra Germir Köyü tanıtılmış ve ?Germir Kiliseleri? alt başlığında, Germir Köyü'ndeIVbulunan üç adet kilise tanım, tarihçe, mimari özellik ve bugünkü durumlarıbakımından incelenmiştir.İçlerinden asıl inceleme konusu olan?Panagia Kimisis-Tis Theotoku? kilisesininseçilerek tek ana başlık altında değerlendirildiği üçüncü bölümde ise kiliseninkonumu ve tarihçesiyle birlikte tüm mimari özellikleri detaylı bir biçimdeanlatılmıştır.Dördüncü bölümde ?Panagia Kilisesinin Günümüz Koşullarında Değerlendirilmesi?ana başlığı altında, birinci alt bölümde kilisenin bugünkü durumu incelenerek,koruma sorunları anlatılmış ve ikinci alt bölümde yıpranma nedenleri ile bunedenlerin yapıya nasıl yansıdığı ortaya konarak kilisenin hayata döndürülmesi içingerekli koruma önerileri anlatılmış, kilisenin yöresel konumu ve kentin gereksinimidikkate alınarak yapıya yeniden kullanım önerisi getirilmiştir.Bölüm 1, Bölüm 2, Bölüm 3 ve Bölüm 4'de elde edilen bulgular doğrultusundabeşinci bölümde, çalışmadan ortaya çıkan verilerin toparlandığı ?Sonuç? bölümü iletez sonuçlanmıştır.V

ABSTRACTIn this study, churchs that have been built in the Germir Village of Kayseri city thathas been the focus point of many culture and civilizations in Anatolia throughouthistory and also one of the most important centres for Christianity, have beenevaluated and examined in the aspect of both history and architecture. Under thescope of the thesis, first of all Kayseri churchs -most of which have been dated from19th century and increased in number during the late Ottoman period have beensearched. The projects of three churchs belonging to the Germir Village that is themain subject of our thesis have been drawn; their architectural characteristics havebeen underlined. And also a conservation proposal about ?Panagia Kimisis-TisTheotoku Church? has been prepared in order to set an example to provide thecontinuity of these buildings in contemporary life by protecting them.In this study that consists of five chapters, to explain the whole, first of all thereligion concept has been handled and how the need for building for the sake ofreligious belief affects architecture has been put forward. The reflections of Christianbelief that is related to our main subject have been examined from general toparticular. During the explanation of these steps, the existence of churchs in Kayserihas also been evaluated in the aspect of history in addition to architecture; and thesituation of non-Muslims in the Ottoman Empire of 19th century-the building periodof the churchs examined, has been mentioned.Within the first chapter of the study, the main topic of ?The Religion Concept; ItsPlace in Architecture and the Churchs? has been handled. After the religion conceptand the change in the places of worship throughout history in the aspect ofarchitecture have been mentioned; under the scope of sub-section?The ChurchDefinition, Concept, Scope and Architectural Characteristics?, in order to provide ahealthy database for our main subject, the definition and concept of church and therelation of the church building with the social life and the architectural characteristicsof the church have been explained. After the description of the architectural structureof the church with outlines has been made; the architectural characteristics of Easternchurchs that our main theme Germir Churchs are a part of, have been underlined.VIIn the second chapter examined under the main topic of ?Kayseri and GermirChurchs?, first of all the properties of Kayseri city and how it has been made use ofby non-Muslims, have been mentioned. The aim here is to introduce the architectureof Kayseri Churchs that Germir Churchs are a part of, by explaining the conditionand organization of non-Muslim worship places in Kayseri. Then Germir Village hasbeen defined and under the sub-section of ?Germir Churchs?, the three churchs havebeen examined in the aspect of description, history, architectural characteristics andtheir conditions today.And in the third chapter where ?Panagia Kimisis-Tis Theotoku Church? has beenselected and evaluated in one main topic; the location, history and all thecharacteristics of the church have been explained in details.In the fourth chapter, under the main topic of ?The Evaluation of Panagia Church inthe Aspect of the Conditions Today?, the situation of the church today has beenexamined, the conservation concerns have been explained in the first sub-section. Inthe second sub-section, the causes of wearing-out and how these causes are reflectedin the building have been underlined and conservation proposals to bring the churchback to life have been described. By taking the regional location of the church andthe need of the city into consideration, a proposal to re-use the building has beenmade.In the direction of the findings obtained in Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3 andChapter 4, with ?the Conclusion? section where the outcomings of this study havebeen put together the thesis has been completed in the fifth chapter.VII
