ABSTRACT This is a macro study of inflation accounting and it has two objectives. The first one is to evaluate the accounting practices of large business enterprises for dealing with price changes during the accounting period. The other is to obtain an insight into the corporate attitudes towards the problem of inflation accounting. The study also compares the results with a similar study carried out in India in 1985. The results are based on the responses obtained from 101 companies out of 500 great companies whose names are listed by Istanbul Chamber of Industry in 1988.
