ÖZ HİZMET ÖNCESİ ÖĞRETMENLER İÇİN ÇEVRİMİÇİ ÖĞRENİM DESTEK SİSTEMİ TASARIMI VE GELİŞTİRİLMESİ: TUTUM VE KULLANIMLAR ÜZERİNE BÎR TARTIŞMA İnan, Fethi Ahmet Yüksek Lisans, Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Yrd. Doç. Dr. Soner Yıldırım Ortak Tez Yöneticisi: Yrd. Doç. Dr. Ercan Kiraz Ocak 2003, 94 sayfa Bu çalışmada web destekli bir hizmet öncesi öğretmen eğitimi dersine katılmaları nedeni ile öğretmen adaylarının davranışlarında meydana gelen değişiklikler incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bu çalışmada, öğretmen adaylarının, kendilerine içerik, haberler ve ödevleri sunma ve öğrencilerle öğretmen arasındaki iletişimi yönlendirme gibi olanaklar sunmak amacıyla tasarlanıp geliştirilen Çevrimiçi Öğrenme Destek Sistemi'ni nasıl kullandıkları ve algıladıkları araştırılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın örneklemi, ODTÜ-Eğitim Bilimleri Bölümü bünyesinde web- destekli olarak verilen bir dersin öğrencileridir. Bu çalışmaya“Öğretimde Planlama ve Değerlendirme”dersini alan 43 öğretmen adayından 40 öğrenci katılmıştır.Bu çalışmada, araştırma sorularına daha detaylı yanıt verebilmek amacıyla nitel ve nicel araştırma teknikleri bir arada kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmadaki veriler anketler ve yan yapılandırılmış grup görüşmeleri sonucu elde edilmiştir. Öğrenciler dönem başında bilgisayarlara karşı olumlu bir tutum içinde olmaları nedeni ile, web-destekli dersin bitiminde tutumlarında önemli bir değişme gözlenmemiştir. Dönem boyunca web sitesini kullanan öğrenciler, şu noktalan avantaj olarak belirtmişlerdir: zaman ve mekandan bağımsız olma, öğretmenle istendiği an iletişim kurabilme, güncel duyurulara erişebilme ve ödevleri elektronik olarak yükleyebilme. Diğer yandan, web sitesinin tanıtılması, erişilebilirlik, bilgisayar ekranından okuma, web sitesinin yönetilmesi, kişiye özel olma ve güncel bilgi sunmanın yanı sıra teknik problemler, öğrencilerin web sitesi kullanımına etki eden faktörler olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.

ABSTRACT A DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN ONLINE LEARNING SUPPORT SYSTEM (OLSS) FOR PRESERVICE TEACHERS: A DISCUSSION OF ATTITUDES AND UTILIZATION İnan, Fethi Ahmet M. Prof. Dr. Ercan Kiraz January 2003, 94 pages This study explored how preservice teachers perceived and utilized the Online Learning Support System designed and developed to provide a platform for presenting utilities like content, news, and course assignments, and facilitating communication among students and instructor. This study also examined the changes in the attitudes of preservice students due to participation in an online supplementary teacher credential course The subjects of this study were the students of a web-supported traditional course offered by the Department of Educational Sciences at the Middle East Technical University. Of 43 prospective teacher students enrolled in the in“Instructional Planning and Evaluation”course, 40 students participated in this study. In this research, a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was used. The data was obtained through focus group interviews, questionnaires and surveys. Owing to the positive attitudes of students toward computers at the beginning of the semester, no significant changes have been observed upon completion of the online supported course. After utilization of the web site throughout the semester, students reported the following topics as advantages: being independent concerning time and place, keeping contact with the instructor any time, accessing up-to-date announcements, and uploading the assignments in an electronic format. On the other hand, orientation to the web site, accessibility, reading from a computer screen, facilitation of the web site, privacy, providing up-to-date information as well as technical problems were underlined by the students as the points that affected their usage of the website.
