ABSTBACT This study, which is composed of an Introduction and three chapters, aims at giving the life story of Sultan Ahmed Celâyir, one of the rulers of Celâyir State and. inves tigating the characteristics of his work titled“Kitabu'l - Mukaddime”, The Introduction attempts to provide the reader with general information on social »political, economic, cultu ral and literary background of Iran in the late VIl/XIV Cen tury and early IX/XV Century. The general aspects of Persiai poetry of the time are also presented. ?“ Chapter One contains detailed knowledge on his ancestors, his life story, his time of reign, the fundamen - tals of his creed and moral philosophy. His personality as a man of letters and his works are also added to this chap ter. Chapter Two gives the general characteristics of his work ”Kitâbu'l-Mukaddirae" with annotated biographies of the persons mentioned in this Divan »The Divan was extensively studied from different points of view with an analysis af its literary features. Chapter Three contains a critical text of his work. Several indices are added to the last chapter.
