Özet

Bu çalışmanın amacı, sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretiminde kullanılan yöntem ve materyallerin öğrenci başarısına etkileri incelemektir..Bu araştırma, ilköğretim okulu dördüncü sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde araç -gereç kullanılıp, öğrenciler aktif kılınarak programlandırılmıştır öğretim yapılan grubun, geleneksel öğretim yapılan gruba göre daha başarılı olup olmadığını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. x Araştırmanın evrenini, Kastamonu ili Küre ilçesi Kesepınar İlköğretim Okulu'nun 4-A ve 4-B sınıflarında öğrenim gören toplam 52 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırma deneme modeline uygun olarak yapılmış, anket ve bilgi testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın verilerine göre; - Araç-gereçlerle ve öğrenci katılımı ile ders işleme başarıyı olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. - Yeni metotlara yer verildikçe derslerdeki basan artmaktadır. - Öğrenci merkezli ve araç-gereçlere yer verilen öğretim yöntemleri, geleneksel öğretim yöntemlerine göre, daha büyük bir oranda kalıcı izli davranış değişikliği sağlamaktadır. - Deney grubunda uygulanan yöntemle öğrenciler yaparak-yaşayarak ve tüm duyu organlarını kullanarak öğrenmektedir. Duyu organlarının kullanımı ve katılım arttıkça öğrenme daha kalıcı olmakta ve dersler daha cazip hale gelmektedir. Bu yüzden öğretmenler, öğrenci merkezli eğitime ve araç-gereç kullanımına olanak sağlayan aktivitelere daha fazla yer vermelidir. Sosyal Bilgiler dersi mihver ders olduğu için diğer derslerle de desteklenmelidir. Bulgulara dayalı öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to research the effects of using methods and materials on students' achievement in teaching social studies course. In this study.we have tried to find out whether using materials with communicative teaching methods or traditional teaching methods are effective on the academic achievement of 4'th grade students in social studies course. The scope of the study is composed of totalling 52 students attending on. Küre Kesepmar primary school in Kastamonu. In this study, experimental model is employed and inventory and achievement tests were used. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows; 1 -Using tools.materials and students' participation are effective in teaching social studies course. 2-Using new methods are increasing the achievement of students. 3-Sfudent-centered approach and using materials are more effective on students' achievement than using traditional teaching method. 4-Students learn using their whole sense and doing and involving with the method applied in the experimental group. With the increase of using sense, learning is being more permanent and courses begin to be more attractive for students. Therefore, teachers should give the necessary importance to the activities which contain students-centered approach and using materials. Social studies courses should be supported with the other courses in terms of being a main course. Suggestions have been developed according to the findings.
