The main aim of this study is to expound, interpret and try to be understood of Turhan Feyzioğlu's political view and contention with considering historical heritages and the conditions of his period of time. Turhan Feyzioğlu as a political actor, academician and statesman lived in very important era for Turkey. This critical era lays between the end of the Second World War and 1980 military coup which was maintained 70' s economic crisis. In this period the military have taken over the government three times -in 1960, 1971 and 1980- This is a story of transition to multi-party system, deeply economic crisis and the great changes of socio-cultural, political and economical structure in Turkey and the frame of reference of Turhan Feyzioğlu was shaped in this cycle. The first part of study is composed of three titles. In the first title, I try to examine the dynamics of transition to multi-party system, causes of establishment and rising of Demokrat Party and circumstances of the era. In the second title, Demokrat Party period and the 27 May coup are considered. And in the last title, I try to focus on significant economic, political and social developments, lived up to 12 September 1980. The second part is about Turhan Feyzioğlu's life, in which I tried to demonstrate the details of his childhood, his youth, academic life, entrance to the active political life, opposition against Democrat Party, his effort on the preparation and having effect of the 1961 Constitution, his leaving to CHP, setting up his own party Trust Party, his political view and contention, his relations to the 12 September Regime... The last part of this study is about Turhan Feyzioğlu's thoughts. First of all I tried to analyze his nationalist mentality that is defined“Atatürk' s Nationalism”by his own. In my opinion that is the most important builder principal of his thought the constant essence of his policy. Then, I tried to expound his thought and mentality about democracy and from this point I tried to interpret his opinion on communism that is the main cause of the deviation of his democracy view. In the last three titles his economic and social view and ideas about foreign policies are analyzed.
