Özet
02. Özet Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim n. kademe Sosyal Bilgiler derslerinin demokrasi eğitimindeki yeri ile ilgili Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma nitel bir yaklaşımla yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak yapılandırılmış mülakat kullanılmıştır. Mülakat formu, kısa cevapb ve açık uçlu, 7 bölüm ve 3 1 sorudan oluşmuştur. Araştırmanın evreni, Trabzon ilinin ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenleridir. Bu evren içinden, Akçaabat ilçesinin 40 ilköğretim okulunun Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmem rastgele (random) örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Toplanan veriler, nitel ve nicel olarak sunulmuştur. Araştırmada; ilköğretim II. kademe Sosyal Bilgiler derslerinin demokrasi eğitimindeki yeri ile ilgili Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin görüşleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, ilköğretim n. kademe Sosyal Bilgiler derslerinin mevcut müfredat ve ders kitapları ile demokrasi eğitimindeki etkisinin zayıf olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Buna ilaveten çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlerin çoğunun“demokrasi eğitimi”konusunda yeterli bilgi düzeylerinin ve mesleki yeterliliklerinin olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına dayanılarak bazı çözüm önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.

03. Summary The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of Social Studies teachers who is responsible for sixth and seventh classes concerning the role of social studies courses in democracy education. Qualitative research methodology was under taken in this study. A structured interview was used as data collection tool. The interview form consists of 7 chapters which contain 31 open-ended questions and short answers. It was taken some of the Social Studies- teachers working in primary school in Trabzon as study-population. 40 teachers joined the study working at primary schools in Akçaabat. Random sampling was used in order to choose sampling. Collected data were presented as“qualitive and quantitive”. The perceptions of Social Studies teachers who is responsible for sixth and seventh classes concerning the role of social studies courses in democracy education were determined in this study. In the light of the data it seems that, the curriculum of Social Studies Lessons and also books use in sixth and seventh classes have poor effect on democracy education. In addition to, most of the teachers who were included in this study have not got enough information level on the subject of“democracy education”and the professional sufficiency were determined in this study. Some suggestions on solution were given based on the result of the study.
