Özet

ÖZET Şehbenderzâde Filibeli Ahmet Hilmi, XIX. yüzyıl İslamcı düşünürlerinin önde gelen simalarındandır. Filibeli; Osmanlı Devletinin parçalanmanın eşiğine geldiği, içeride ve dışarıda zor zamanlar geçirdiği bir donemde cereyan eden modernleşme ve yenilenme tartışmalarının aktif katılımcılarından biri olarak; eğitimden siyaset anlayışına, felsefeden sanata, ekonomiden dine kadar pek çok alanda ortaya koyduğu fikirleriyle ön plana çıkmıştır. Mütefekkirimizin yaşadığı donemde materyalist düşüncenin felsefe ve bilimde yaygınlaşmasıyla birlikte; ruh, ahiret ve Allah'ın varlığı gibi fizik ötesi gerçekler inkar edilmeye başlanmıştır. Bu durum ise ateist fikirlerin çeşitlilik kazanarak yaygınlaşmasına yol açmıştır. Ahmet Hilmi, öncelikli vazifesini dini korumak ve güncellemek şeklinde tanımladığı kelâm ilminin; yeni gelişmeler karşısında kendini revize etmesi gerektiğini düşünür. O, varlıkları reddedilen Tanrı ve ruh gibi inançları yeni yöntemlerle savunmaya ve ispata çalışmıştır. Materyalist felsefe temelindeki ateist akımlara karşı verdiği mücadeleyle, kelâma hem yeni bir soluk getirmiş hem de konularını güncellemiştir. Bu sebeple yeni ilm-i kelâmın öncülerinden sayılır. Modernleşme çalışmalarının hız kazandığı bir dönemde, bu mesele ile ilgili açıkladığı düşünceleriyle de yapılan tartışmalara açılım getirmiştir. Filibeli, bir aydın sıfatıyla çağının sorunlarına eğilmiş ve kendince çözüm önerileri sunmuştur. Fikirleri o gün olduğu kadar bugün de değerlidir. iv

ABSTRACT Şehbenderzâde Ahmet Hilmi from Filibe was one of the most leading islamic thinkers of the XIX th century and as such, he put forward quite a lot of suggestions covering the topics relevant to education, policy, philosophy, art, economy and religion. As a renowned intellectual of then, he took part actively in the discussions related to the modernization and innovation that took place at a time when the Ottoman Empire came close to the eve of breaking up and spent hard times both inside and outside the country. Part of the people commenced to deny the concepts of spirit and the next world and existence of God right in the wake of the fact that the materialistic thoughts became common in philosophy and science in the period when our intellectual in question lived. This situation gave rise to the spread of the ateist ideas in different forms, İn the face of the new developments, Ahmet Hilmi ran away with by himself must be the protection and modernization of the religion needed to be revised. He tried to defend and prove the concepts such as God and spirit the existences of which were not accepted, in other words, denied through the use of new methods. Kalam has had a new breath and a up to date vision thanks to his struggless against the ateism activities as one of the pioneers of knowledge of Kalam. He put up a new face to the above mentioned debates thanks to his above cited thoughts that appeared at a period when the modernization activities went on in a rapid way. Filibeli, was an intellectual and as such he devoted himself to the problems that arose in his century and made some suggestions for the matter involved. His ideas are of value even today as they used to be in the past.
