'"'?'?'.'j*-*.- ABSTRACT Copernicus has been accused by many historians of science that his system is a model, which tried to perpetuate Ptolemaic system. Thus, they concluded that by eliminating the equant Copernicus tried to restore astronomy to the geostatic system with uniform circular motions, liy aim in this thesis is to show Copernican system is a new insight rather than a simple response to Ptolemaic system. / ÖZET Sistemin Ptolemaic sistemi edebileştirmeye çalışan bir model olduğu gerekçesiyle Copernicus bir çok bilim tarihçisi tarafından suçlanmıştır. Nitekim, 'bu bilim tarihçilerinin aldığı karar Copernicus 'un equantları kaldırarak düzgün dairesel hareketle astronomiyi geastatik sistem üzerine restore ettiği seklindedir. Benim bu tezde amacım Copernicus sisteminin Ptolemaic sisteme basit bir yanıt olmaktan öte yeni bir anlayışın ürünü olduğunu göstermektir. İ»
