-ii- ABSTRACT In this thesis the concept of rationality is conceived as corallary to the concept of the universal and. thus examined as a problem concerning the status of a universal. Accordingly in this respect, the concept of rationality in the Later Wittgenstein is claimed to he a contemporary reinstatement of the Aristotelian position and also it is claimed that both of their philosophies are examples of descriptive Metaphysics, according to the distinction made by Straws on.
