oz Bu çalışmada terör ve etik kavranılan tanımlanarak basın etiği kapsamında 1 1 Eylül terör eylemi bir aylık (12 Eylül - 12 Ekim 2001) zaman diliminde örneklem birimi olarak seçilen Milliyet, Cumhuriyet, Zaman gazetelerinin haber başlıkları içerik çözümlemesi yöntemiyle incelendi. İnsanlık tarihi kadar eski geçmişi olan terörizm, 11 Eylül 2001 tarihinde ABD. 'ye yapılan saldırıyla ve ikibinli yılların yaşandığı günümüzde varlığını sürdüreceğini acı bir şekilde gösterdi. Terörle mücadele çalışmalarında terörün basını kendi yönünde kullandığı, basın yoluyla varlığını ve gücünü daha geniş kitlelere benimsettiği savları güncelleşmiş çağdaş dünyada basının dördüncü kuvvet olarak kamu oyu oluşturma, yönlendirme ve bilgilendirme görevi ve gücünün yadsınamayacağı günümüz gerçeğidir. Bu nedenle ikibinli yıllara damgasını vuran 11 Eylül terörünü ulusal basında yer alan; haber başlıkları, kapsamında; haberlerde sıklıkla kullanılan kavramlar günlük haber sayısı kapsamında içerik çözümlemesi yöntemiyle incelenerek basının etik değerlere bağlılığı gözlenmiştir. m

ABSTRACT In this work, by defining the concepts of terrorism and ethic in the scope of press ethic, the September 1 1"1 action was examined towards the news headlines of Mlliyet, Cumhuriyet and Zaman newspapers which were published in the margin of one month (September 12th - October 12th 2001). The terrorism which history is as ancient as the human being history, has showed very painfully that its existence will persist nowadays by the attack happened in USA on September 1 1th 2001 and those happened in the 2000 years. In the terrorism fight works, it is an evidence that the terrorism uses the press in its own side, that it identifies its existence and power to a wide mass towards the press, and that the press, in the contemporary world, is the fourth power in the role of constitution, direction and information the public opinion, that can not be denied. By analysing the contents of the news headlines published in the international press during the terrorism of September 1 1th that stamped the 2000 years, the contents of the concepts used very frequently in the news and the number of news related to this subject, the dependence of the press to the ethic values was observed.
