Ill oz BİRLEŞTİRİLMİŞ VE NORMAL SINIFLARDA OKUYAN 4. VE 5. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN TÜRKÇE VE MATEMATİK DERSLERİNDEKİ BAŞARILARININ KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI (Gaziantep İli Merkez İlçeleri Örneği) KILINÇ, Selçuk Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Eğitim Bilimleri Tez Yöneticisi: Prof. Dr. Hikmet Y. CELKAN Ocak 2005, 129 sayfa. Bu araştırma, 2003-2004 eğitim-öğretim yılı içerisinde, Gaziantep ili merkez ilçelerinde yer alan birleştirilmiş ve normal sınıflarda okuyan 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe ve Matematik derslerindeki başarıları arasındaki farkı ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Elde edilen ham veriler, sınıf öğretmenlerinin öğrencilere verdiği yıl sonu notlan ve Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'nün yapmış olduğu izleme ve başarı değerlendirme sınavı sonuçlan olarak toplanmış ve analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2003-2004 eğitim-öğretim yılında Gaziantep ilinin merkez ilçeleri olan Şehitkamil 115 okul (63 okul birleştirilmiş sınıflı köy) ve Şahinbey'de 103 okul (35 okul birleştirilmiş sınıflı köy) olmak üzere 218 ilköğretim okulu oluşturmuştur. Araştırma evreninden küme örneklem yoluyla rasgele çekilen Şehitkamil ilçe' sinde 12 okul 'da (6 okul birleştirilmiş sınıf) 317 öğrenci (190 öğrenci birleştirilmiş sınıf ta okuyor) ve Şahinbey ilçe' sinde 1 1 okul'da (4 okul birleştirilmiş sınıf) 223 öğrenci(143 öğrenci birleştirilmiş sımf ta okuyor) olmak üzere 270'iIV normal sınıfta okuyan, 270'i birleştirilmiş sınıfta okuyan toplam 540 öğrenci araştırmaya katılmıştır. Elde edilen ham veriler SPSS ortamında t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi çözümlemeleri ile araştırmamızın hipotezlerine cevap aranmıştır. Araştırmada yer alan ana hipotezlere ve alt hipotezlere cevap olarak şu sonuçlar elde edilmiştir: 1. Normal öğretim yapan okullardaki 4. ve 5. sımf öğrencileri Türkçe ve Matematik derslerinde birleştirilmiş öğretim yapan 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencilerine göre daha başarılı olmuşlardır. 2. Her iki öğretimde de öğrencilerin Türkçe dersindeki başarısı Matematik dersinde başarısından daha yüksek çıkmıştır. 3. Öğrencilerin Türkçe ve Matematik derslerindeki basanlarında okulun bulunduğu yerleşim merkezi tip'inin etkisinin olduğu bulunmuş olup şehir merkez'indeki okullarda öğrenim gören öğrenciler kırsal'da ve köy'de öğrenim gören öğrencilere göre daha başarılı çıkmışlardır. 4. Araştırma bulgularına göre öğrencilerin Türkçe ve Matematik derslerindeki basan farklılığı (birleştirilmiş ve normal sınıflarda) öğretmen faktöründen kaynaklanmış olup bu faktör öğretmenlerin öğrencileri değerlendirirken genel kriterler yerine kişisel görüşüne göre değerlendirmesinden kaynaklanmış olabilir. 5. Her iki öğretim şeklinde de (normal ve birleştirilmiş sımf) öğrencilerin cinsiyetlerine bağlı olarak Türkçe ve Matematik dersinde başanlan arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır.

SUMMARY COMPARING 4th AND 5th CLASS STUDENTS' -ATTENDING JOINED AND NORMAL CLASSES- SUCCESS RATES IN TURKISH AND MATHS LESSONS (Example of Gaziantep Central Districts) KILINÇ, Selçuk Master Thesis, Educational Science Director of Thesis: Prof. Hikmet Y. CELKAN January 2005, 129 pages. This research has been performed to find out the difference between the success rates of the 4th and 5th class students in Turkish and Mathematics lessons, attending joined or normal classes in the central districts of Gaziantep. The obtained raw data has been collected and analysed as the end term grades given to the students by the class teachers and the results of the observational and evaluational examination organized by the National Education Directorate. The universe of the research is formed by 218 Primary Schools 115 of which is in Şehitkamil -the central district of Gaziantep- (63 village schools with joined classes) and 103 of which in Şahinbey -the central district of Gaziantep- (35 village schools with joined classes). 317 students (190 of which attending joined classes) from 12 schools (6 of which with joined classes) in Şehitkamil and 223 students (143 of which attending joined classes) from 1 1 schools (4 of which with joined classes) have been included in the research. The schools have been selected randomly from the research universe by the group sampling method. 540 students in total -270 ofVI which attending normal classes, 270 of which attending joined classes- have been included in the research. Answers for the hypothesis of the research have been investigated with the help of analysing the raw data by t-testing and one way variable analysing in SPSS environment. The following results have been obtained as the answers for the main hypothesis and the sub hypothesis included in the research: 1. Students of 4th and 5th classes from normal class schools are more successful in Turkish and Mathematics than the students of 4th and 5th classes from joined class schools. 2. Students from both types of education are more successful in Turkish than Mathematics. 3. The effect of the type of the residential area -which the school is located in- over the students' success rate in Turkish and Mathematics, has been determined. Students from schools of urban areas are more successful than the student's from schools of rural areas. 4. According to research results, the difference between the students' success rates in Turkish and Mathematics (in joined and normal classes) has arisen from the teacher factor. This factor might have arisen from the teacher's evaluating the students with his/her personal opinions instead of general criterion. 5. A meaningful difference between the success rates of the students in Turkish and Mathematics related to their sexes couldn't have been found in both types of education (normal and joined classes).
