Özet
oz Yeni Türk Edebiyatı Tanzimat'tan sonra ortaya çıkmıştır. Ama, sanıldığından daha derin bir geçmişin uzantısıdır. Denilebilir ki; kökleri XVIII. yüzyıl başlarına kadar inen batılılaşma sürecinin değer ve yargıları üzerine kurulmuştur. Bu yüzden, Osmanlı tarihinin en keskin dönemeçlerinden biri olan batılılaşma süreci bilinmeden Yeni Türk Edebiyatı'nı lâyıkıyla anlamak zordur. Münif Paşa, XIX. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında öne çıkmış birkaç aydından biridir. Batıya açılan iletişim kanallarının hemen hepsinde varlık göstermiş, yalnızca kendi döneminin değil sonrasının düşünce hayatını da etkilemiştir. Ancak, yenileşme denilince, genellikle, Mustafa Reşid Paşa, Şinâsi ve Namık Kemal merkezli bir hareket anlaşılageldiği için, devrin birçok ismiyle birlikte Münif Paşa adı da gölgede kalmıştır. Araştırmanın çıkış noktası bu tespite dayanmaktadır. Münif Paşa, şair ve yazarlığından mütercimliğine, gazeteciliğinden bilim önderliğine kadar, çeşitli yönleri ve cepheleriyle, devrinin şartlan içinde değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma, beş ana bölümden oluşmuştur. Girişte, bir zemin oluşturması için batılılaşma süreci ana çizgileriyle özetlenmiştir. Daha sonra Münif Paşa'nın hayatı ve sosyal faaliyetleri; Birinci ve İkinci Bölümde anlatılmıştır. Üçüncü Bölüm eserlerine, Dördüncü Bölüm şiirlerinin incelenmesine, Beşinci Bölüm fikirlerine ayrılmıştır. Bibliyografya da iki kısım olarak düzenlenmiştir. Birinci kısımda Münif Paşa'nın eserleri, makaleleri, resmî evrakı; ikinci kısımda yararlanılan diğer kaynaklar sıralanmıştır. Şiirleri ile bazı önemli arşiv belgelerinin fotokopileri de tezin sonuna Latin harflerine çevrilmiş şekilleriyle birlikte eklenmiştir. ut

ABSTRACT New Turkish Literature has been emerged after the Tanzimat but it has a long and profound past as it is thought. It can be said that New Turkish Literature has been based on the values and judgements of westernization process which descends the beginning of the XVIII. Century Without recognizing the westernization process as one of the most striking turning points of Ottoman history, New Turkish Literature is really understood to understand intrinsically. Münif Pasha is one of the leading figures who emerged in the second half of the XIX. Century. Moreover he influenced almost all stages of communication channels of western realm as well as the social and thinking lives of the later times. Nevertheless, due to the fact that the innovation movement generally evocated the movement which was centered with Mustafa Reşid Pasha, Şinasi and Namık Kemal; Münif Pasha kept in the background with some prominent personalities of the period. The orientation point of this study rests on these findings. Münif Pasha is elaborated with his multi-dimensional perspectives prolonging from his being poet and author to his being translator as well as his being journalist to the leadership on the sciences within the circumstances of the period. The thesis has been constituted by the five chapters. In Introduction, the westernization process has been evaluated with its main lines to establish a ground for the study. In First and Second Chapters, the life and the social activities of Münif Pasha have been mentioned. The Third Chapter has been allocated for his all works covering the compilation and translation and the Fourth Chapter is attributed for the study of his poems and Fifth Chapter has been explained for the explanation of his opinions. Bibliography has been regulated into two groups. The books, articles and official papers of Münif Pasha were displayed in the first group and the other references used in the thesis in the second one. His poems and some important archive documents have been added to the end of the thesis together with their copies converted to the Latin alphabet. iv
