Özet

ABSTRACT Ayakta Şerifi B", Evaluation of the cardiovascular risk factors of the workers at the factory of Standart Profil in Düzce. Department of Public Health, Ahant izzet Baysal University. Dissertation Thesis, Düzce, 2003.This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. This study was designed to detect the risk factors of coronary heart disease such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, obesity and having an angry temper by measuring Framingham risk scores of the staff at the factory of Standart Profil in Düzce. Four hundred and fourteen workers at the age of 30 and over, among 1 121 workers of the factory were included into the study. A questionnaire provided information concerning the worker's profile such as height, weight, waist size and also blood pressure, blood lipid and glucose levels as the worker is hungry. In this study, we calculated Framingham risk scores those give us 10 year risk, the risk factors such as age, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, systolic blood pressure, hypertension, smoking were used to calculate. 75.1 percent of the group was between the ages of 30-39 years and 90.3 percent of the group was male. It was reported that 60.9 percent of group was smoking and 26.6 percent was having alcohol. 69 percent of the group was blue-coller. 70.3 percent of the workers were working by shift When we looked at the Framingham risk scores, we found that 92.5 percent having low, 7.0 percent having medium, 0,5 percent having high risk. After investigation of the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors, the prevalence rates were found as follows; 4,1 %, hypertension, 15.7 % hypercholesterolemia, 44.9 % hypertrigliseridemi, 10.9 % obesity, 11.1 % metabolic syndrom. The Spielberger Triat Anger scores of the study group were found as, mean anger-continuous score of the group was 21.0±5.4 (±SS), inner anger-in score was 16.4 ± 4,1 (±SS), anger-out score was 15,3 ± 3,9 (±SS), and mean anger-control score was 22,4 ± 5,4 (±SS). According to the results of the study, the workers having at least one or more high and/or medium Framingham risk scores were advised to apply the department of cardiology of the Düzce SSK Hospital to be treated accordingly.
