ÖZET DOKTORA TEZİ TERCÜME PROBLEMLERİ VE MEALLER Faruk GÜRBÜZ Danışman : Prof. Dr. Ali EROĞLU 2003- SAYFA : 843 Jüri : Prof. Dr. Ali EROĞLU Tercüme Problemleri ve Mealler adı altında tamamlamış olduğumuz bu çalışma, Kur'ân'ın tercümesi meselesiyle alakalı değildir. Çünkü bu ifade, daha çok Kur'ân'ın tercüme edilebilirliği ve edilemezliği üzerinde yapılan tartışmaları anlatmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ise, evvela genel tercüme problemleri tespit edilmiş, sonra da, Kur'an-ı Kerim'in, analitik olmayan, daha asla sadık, yani bir bakıma, kelimesi kelimesine tercümesi şeklinde algılanan ve tanımlanan meallerinin, bu problemler karşısındaki durumu sergilenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca, hemen hemen, bütün tercüme ilkelerinin zaaf ve faydalarına da dikkat çekilmiştir. Sonuçta, gerek anlamı anlamına, gerek harfi harfine, gerek üslubu üslubuna ve gerekse de söz dizimine sadakat gösterilerek yazılan meallerin, tercüme problemlerini çözmede çok az başarılı oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Nihayet bütün tercümelerde anlam, ses, musikî ve üslup yitimi söz konusu olmuştur. İşte bu açıdan bakarak,“mütercim tercüme sanatım icra ederken hangi ilkeyi benimserse benimsesin, bu ilkelerle ortaya koyduğu çeviri ile, asıl metin arasındaki alaka, ancak yaklaşık kelimesiyle özetlenebilir,”sözünü kolayca söyleyebiliriz. Nitekim Cemil Meriç, tercümenin asıl metin ile alakasını cidden fevkalâde satırlarla dile getirmiştir. İşte bizim tezimizde vardığımız sonuç O'nun, "Tercüme Babil kulesinde yolumuzu aydınlatan hırsız feneri. Sönük, titrek bir ışık. Traduttore traditore (Hain mütercim) iftira değil, kader. Dilden dile aktarılan ruhtan çok lafız, şiirsiz bir aşağı yukarı şeklindeki cümlelerinde saklıdır.

Thesis TRANSLATION PROBLEMS AND SENSES Faruk GÜRBÜZ Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Ali EROGLU 2002- PAGE: 843 Juri : Prof. Dr. Ali EROGLU This study called“Translation Problems and Senses”is not concerned with the issue of translation of the Koran. Beceuse it connotates the discussion concerning whether the Koran can be translated or not. In this study, however, firstly the common translation problems have been indentified and then the stuation of the sense, which are not analytic but perceived and described according to the original meaning, that is translated from its original to the target language by considering one to one word correspondence, aganist these problems has been displayed with some examples. Furthermore, the attention has been drawn to the pros and cons of nearly all translation principles. In conclusion it has been found that translations written with refcrancc to cither semantics, or written form, or style and syntax arc not too successful in soluing the translation problems. Finally, in all translation, there has been, meaning, sound, music, and style loss. From this point of wiev, we can say that, the relationship between the translation made by the translator who adopts and of these principles while translating the text, and the original can be summarised with the word 'approximate' As a matter of fact, Cemil Meriç explained this relationship with the following ekxtraordinary lines. The conclusion we reached in our study is his interpretation that 'translation is the thief lantern wich lightens our way in Babel Tower. Dim, shaking ligth. Traduttore traditore (treachrous translator) is not an accusation but a fate. It is hidden in the sentences which are approximate and without poem but the letter rather than soul, passed from one language to another
