IV SUMMARY Conducting Gynocological examinations and Family Planning are two areas where the sense of feminine shyness has extreme importance. Studies on“Different Behavior Patterns on Physician - Patient Affairs Based on Shyness and Factors Influencing Shyness”are based on Gynocologi cal illnesses and family services, with special emphasis on women between ages of 18-51. V The purpose of this study is to show that the culture has a more pronounced effect on hunan behavior than' the other factors, such as age, sex, level of education, manner in which the medical staff approach patients, time and the quality of examinations. With the concept of different life styles having dif ferent effects on shy behavior patterns, in mind, this study was conducted on three socio-economic and cultural sectors (village, squatter, and city). Gölbaşı Medical Sta tion for rural settlement areas, Balgat's No 12 Family Plan ning and Mother and Child Health Center for squatter areas and.finally the Hacettepe university, Gynocological Clinic for the city, were selected for conducting this research. The number of people involved in this research is 50 people from each region. The tools of this research, which involves 150 people, are questionnaires, interview forms and the scale of bashfulness. The situations are establis hed by questionnaire and interview forms and how much of these situations is affected by these attitudes. The actual behavior of respondents taking the gynocological examina tions are observed and monitored by means of the bashfulness scale, questionnaire and interview forms.V Evaluating findings of the research.bashfull attitu des appeared to be dominated by cultural factors; Thus, the basic hypothesis of the study is upheld to be valid. According to the findings 74% of the respondents from the village and shanty town regions showed bashfull reactions, compared to 32% reaction observed in the urban clinic.
