ABSTRACT Ethics is one of the most important subject of the philosophy since ancient times. Philosophers tried to eleborate the ethical concepts in many different methods. This thesis consists of three chapters and a conclusion. Firstly we offered the literal meaning and ethimology of the ethics and some philosopher's views about ethics in the first chapter. In the second chapter, an attempt was made on how Aritoteles treated this kind of views. At the last chapter our goal was examination of Farabi's views about ethics in detail. After these three chapters we offer a conclusion. According to the conclusion we can say that, on the one hand Farabi adopted some of the descriptions and classifications of Aristoteles ethics and thoughts on the oher hand in constructing his own thoughts used Islam and Turkish culture and applied eclectic method. 288
