1960'LI VE 1970'Lİ YILLARDA CUMHURİYET HALK PARTİSİ'NİN DEĞİŞİMİ Kakizaki, Masaki Yüksek Lisans, Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi: Dr. Necmi ERDOĞAN Ağustos 2002, 174 sayfa Bu tez, Türkiye'deki Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi'nin tarihsel gelişimini, partinin 1960'lı ve 1 970'li yıllardaki sosyal demokrat bir partiye dönüşümü bağlamında çözümlemektedir. CHP'nin 'Ortanın Solu' politikası benimsemesi ve kendini Demokratik Sol ilan etmesine yol açan tarihsel etkenleri incelemeye çalışmaktadır. Burada, CHP programı, yayınları, ve CHP'nin yeni ideolojisinin başlıca mimarı olan Bülent Ecevit'in eserleri araştırılarak CHP'nin söylemi analizedilmektedir. Ayrıca, Ecevit'in CHP'nin eski Kemalizminin altı okunu nasıl eleştirdiği ve onun Demokratik Sol' kavramının ve Kemalizmi tekrar yorumlamasının CHP'nin geleneksel Kemalizm anlayışından ne ölçüde ayrıldığı gibi sorulan yanıtlamak için, bu yeni söylem Kemalizm ile karşılaştırılmaktadır. Son olarak, bu tez CHP ile sendikalar, işadamları, solcu gruplar ve ordu gibi siyasal aktörler arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektedir.

ABSTRACT THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE REPUBLICAN PEOPLE'S PARTY IN THE 1960s AND 1970s Kakizaki, Masaki M. S., Department of Political Science and Public Administration Supervisor: Assist. Prof. Dr. Necmi ERDO?AN August 2002, 174 pages This thesis analyzes the historical development of the Republican People's Party in Turkey with special reference to its transformation into a social democratic party in the late 1960s and the 1970s. It attempts to investigate historical factors that caused the RPP's adoption of the new“left-of center”policy and the promulgation of a concept of democratic leftism. Then, the analysis of the RPP's discourse is undertaken through investigation of the RPP programs, the party's 111publications, and the works of Bülent Ecevit, who was the main architect of the RPP's new ideology. In addition, the thesis compares this new discourse with classical Kemalism in order to answer questions such as how Ecevit criticized the RPP's old Kemalist six principles and to what extent his formulation of the concept of democratic leftism and reinterpretation of Kemalism differed from the RPP's traditional understanding on Kemalism. Lastly, this study examines the relationship between the RPP and several political actors including trade unions, business associations, the leftist groups, and the military.
