11 ABSTRACT - The petrolium crisis happened in 1973, have made a requtrtment to the researches of an alternative energy sourses by having petrolium's place and using it more efficiency in the industrialised and developing countries At the end of these reseaches natural gas has been determined as the most usable energy by having petrol's place. Today, the ratio 'of the use of natural gas, in the usable energy sources, is 20 % in the world. - The advantages that natural gas brings, has been taken at enifiion and as in the fifth five- years developing plan, Turkey has made a chose of long period about using na tural gas. - The problems of turning natural gas to burn in both the stream tanks used in industry and the hotwater tanks used for heatinginthe houses, the prevention systems and the technical and economical being of this operation are the subjects which are given too much attention by the sector that produce and operate the tanks. - For heating buildings, the use of natural gas will have a great ratio in our general energy consumption. 43 % of the Consumed energy in our country is used for buildings. 85 % of this ratio is directly used for is observed Just for buildings, the only subject that is being discussed in the âgende of our country is turning the heating systems into natural gas.
