Özet
Akıl, sadece islâm düşüncesinde değil, bütün düşünce tarihinde insanı diğer canlılardan ayıran yetenek olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bundan dolayı akıl dînî, ahlâkî ve hukukî sorumluluğun esası sayılmıştır. Akl lafzı, Kur'ân'da 30 sûreye yayılan 49 âyette yer almaktadır. Çalışmamız, Kur'ân'ın bu önemli konuya nasıl baktığını ortaya koymak amacındadır. Çünkü akıl kavramı, Kur'ân'daki“anahtar terimlerden”biridir. Birinci bölümde, kavramın daha iyi anlaşılması için akl lafzının detaylı bir etimolojik analizi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca Felsefe, Kelâm ve Tasavvuf ilimlerinin konuya bakışına yer verilmiştir. Yine bu bölümde düşünce tarihinin en köklü problemlerinden olan“akıl-vahy”problemine değinilmiştir. ikinci bölümde akıl kelimesiyle anlam ilişkisi içerisinde olan“çevre kelimeler”ele alınmıştır. Bu kelimelerin akılla benzerlik ve farklılıkları ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Üçüncü ve son bölümde ise âyetlere dayalı olarak aklın kirtâb, Kur'ân, iman ve kalb gibi kavramlarla ilişkisi ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca Kur'ân'a göre aklı kullanmamanın sonuçlan değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmamız, genel bir değerlendirme ile sona ermektedir.

Reason, not only in islamic thought but also throughout all history of thinking, has been accepted to be an ability distinguishing human being from other creatures. Therefore, reason has been considered the basic of religious, legal and moral responsibility. The term 'reason' is found in fourty nine verses which are included in thirty suras under different headings. Our study aims at how the Holy Quran evaluates this important subject matter, for the term of reason is one of the 'key words' in Holy Quran. In the first chapter, the term reason, for its being better understanding, has been etymologically analyzed. Moreover, there exists the point of view of the sciences of philosophy, theology and sufism (mysticism) to the concerned topic. Also, in this part, 'reason-divinely revelation', one of the most major problems in history of thinking has been handled. In the second chapter, similar words associated with the term 'reason' in terms of meaning relation has been handled. It has been tried to make the similarities and differences of these words with 'reason' clear. In the third chapter, on the other hand, the relation of reason with concepts such as book, Quran, faith and heart based on the verses has been dealt with. Besides, the consequences of not using reason according to Quran have been evaluated. Our study ends with a general evaluation.
