V ÖZET DOĞU AKDENİZ BÖLGESİ AKREP (SCORPIONES) FAUNASI KARATAŞ, Ayşegül Ege Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Biyoloji Anabilim Dalı Danışman: Prof.Dr. Hüseyin Arıkan 2001, 93 sayfa Bu araştırma, Doğu Akdeniz Bölgesi'nde yayılış gösteren akrep türlerini belirlemek ve Türkiye Faunası'na katkıda bulunmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla, söz konusu bölgeden toplam 271 akrep örneği incelenmiştir. Çalışmalar sonunda, Buthidae familyasından dört (Androctonus crassicauda, Mesobuthus eupeus, Mesobuthus gibbosus anatolicus, Leiurus quinquestriatus), Iuridae familyasından iki (Calchas nordmanni, Iurus asiaticus), Euscorpiidae familyasından iki {Euscorpius carpathicus, Euscorpius mingrelicus ciliciensis) ve Scorpionidae familyasından bir {Scorpio maurus fuscus) olmak üzere toplam yedi cinse ait dokuz tür ve alttürün bölgede dağılış gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Türkiye'de kayıtları bulunan 13 türden % 69.2'sinin bu alanda bulunuşuyla bölgenin tür sayısı bakımından oldukça zengin olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu türlerden M.eupeus, Anadolu'nun batı bölümünde; Iurus asiaticus Toroslar'ın kuzeyinden ve C.nordmanni, araştırma bölgesinde ilk kez tespit edilmiştir. Diğer türlerle ilgili yeni dağılım alanları bildirilmiştir. Ayrıca bulunan akrep türleri ile ilgili bazı biyo-ekolojik bilgiler verilmiştir.

VII SUMMARY FAUNA OF SCORPIONS (SCORPIONES) OF THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN REGION KARATAŞ, Ayşegül Ege University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science Department of Biology Supervisor: Prof.Dr. Hüseyin Arıkan 2001, 93 pages This study was done in order to establish species of scorpions, which ranges in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and to contribute to Turkish fauna. By this reason, it was investigated that a total of 271 specimens of scorpions from the area. In conclusion of the studies, it was established inhabit in the region by nine species and subspecies belong to seven genera, which are four species of the family Buthidae (Androctonus crassicauda, Mesobuthus eupeus, Mesobuthus gibbosus anatolicus, Leiurus quinquestriatus), two species of both of each families Iuridae (Calchas nordmanni, Iurus asiaticus) and Euscorpiidae {Euscorpius carpathicus, Euscorpius mingrelicus ciliciensis), and also one species of the family Scorpionidae {Scorpio maurus fuscus). In conclusion, it is thought that the region is rich with respect to number of species, by 69.2 % of 12 species, which recorded in Turkey, were found in this area. Of these species, M.eupeus, Iurus asiaticus and C. nordmanni were found for the first time in the western part of Anatolia, north of the Taurus and the study area, respectively. New distributional localities for the other species were established. Additionally, some bio-ecological data about the species of scorpions were given.
