öz“GENÇ UZLAŞMACILAR PROGRAMTNIN HİZMETÖNCESİ İLKOKUL ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN ÇATIŞMA ÇÖZÜMLEME BECERİLERİNE ETKİSİ Beidoğlu, Müge Doktora, Eğitim Bilimleri Tez Yöneticisi: Doç. Dr. Ayhan Demir Ocak 2001, 141 sayfa Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, ”Genç Uzlaşmacılar Programı“nın Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti'nde bulunan Atatürk Öğretmen Koleji öğrencilerinin farklı ilişki türleri (arkadaş, yakın arkadaş, kız/erkek arkadaş, anne, baba, ve öğretmen) için kullandıklarını ifade ettikleri çatışma çözümleme becerileri üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Bu çalışmanın ikinci amacı ise, çatışma çözümleme eğitimini, eğitim araştırmaları gündemine sunarak, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti 'ndeki okullarda çatışma çözümlemesi eğitimine ilişkin arz ve talebin araştırılmasına bir çerçeve sağlamaktır. Bu bağlamda, çalışmada önce çatışma, çatışma çözümlemesi, ve okullarda çatışma çözümlemesi eğitimi ile ilgili kavramlar konu edilmiştir. Sonra bu çalışma, ilkokul öğretmen adaylarının çatışma çözümleme becerileri üzerinde odaklanmıştır.Bu araştırmanın örneklemini toplam 50 Atatürk Öğretmen Koleji ikinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşmaktadır. Bu araştırmada izlenen deneysel yöntem, öntest-sontest, deney (n = 25) kontrol (n = 25) grubudur. Bu araştırmada, Çatışma Çözümleme Ölçeği, kontrol ve deney gruplarındaki öğretmen adaylarına öntest ve sontest olarak uygulanmıştır. Çatışma Çözümleme Ölçeği, Thomas (1976) tarafından zorlama, kaçınma, uyma, uzlaşma, ve işbirliği olarak tanımlanan 5 becerinin teorik tanımlamalarından oluşmuştur. Bu araştırmada verilerin analizi için, tekrarlanan ölçüm varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın bulguları aşağıda belirtilen sonuçlan ortaya koymuştur. Deney grubunda (a) işbirliği becerisinin kullanımında arkadaş ve yakın arkadaşla olan çatışmaların çözümünde anlamlı bir artış, (b) öğretmenle olan çatışmaların çözümünde zorlama becerisinin kullanımında anlamlı bir azalma gösterdiği bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın sınırlılıkları içerisinde, ”Genç Uzlaşmacılar Programının" arkadaş ve yakın arkadaşla yaşanılan çatışmaları çözerken ilkokul öğretmen adaylarının işbirliği becerisini kullanmaları yönünde etkisi bulunduğu ifade edilebilir.

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF THE“PROGRAM FOR YOUNG NEGOTIATORS”ON PRESERVICE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS' CONFLICT RESOLUTION STRATEGIES Beidoğlu, Müge Ph.D., Department of Educational Sciences Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Demir January 2001, 141 pages The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the“Program for Young Negotiators”, on the conflict resolution strategies of preservice elementary school teachers with respect to different relationships namely friend, close friend, partner, mother, father, and teacher, at Atatürk Teachers' Training College in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The second purpose of this present study was to emphasize the need and demand for conflict resolution education in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus schools by introducing the conflict resolution education to the agenda of educational research. In this context, first an introduction to conflict, conflict resolution, and conflict resolution education in school settings were presented. Then the focus was inshifted upon preservice elementary school teachers' reported use of conflict resolution strategies. The sample of the present study consisted of total 50 second year student from Atatürk Teachers' Training College In the present study, experimental design was conducted, including one experimental (n = 25) and one control-groups (n = 25). In the present study, Conflict Resolution Questionnaire (CRQ) was administered to collect pre and post measurement data. CRQ contained the theoretical definitions of five conflict resolution strategies identified by Thomas (1976) as forcing, avoiding, accommodating, compromising, and collaborating. In order to analysis data, repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. Results concerning the effect of the“Program for Young Negotiators”were found as follows; (a) a significant increase in the reported use of collaborating strategy in the relationship with friend, and close friend in the experimental group; and (b) a significant decrease in the reported use of forcing strategy in the relationship with teacher in the experimental group. Overall, within the limits of this present study, it can be concluded that the“Program for Young Negotiators”has a high probability of affecting the preservice elementary school teachers to use collaborating strategy toward peers in a conflictual situation.
