Özet
ÖZET“Sosyal-Siyasal ve Ekonomik Yönüyle Muğla (1923-1960)”adlı bu çalışma ile Muğla'nın,Osmanlı Devleti'nin son dönemlerini de içine alarak kısaca tarihçesi,idari ve nüfus yapısı ve tarih içinde bu yapıdaki değişiklikler,sosyal hayat ve siyasal yapısı,eğitim ve kültür faaliyetleri ve ekonomik yapısı ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çalışma süresince yerel ve ulusal basm başta olmak üzere Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi,Başbakanhk Cumhuriyet Arşivi,Genelkurmay Askeri Tarih ve Stratejik Etüd Başkanlığı (ATAŞE) Arşivi,Ankara ve İzmir Milli Kütüphaneleri,Muğla'da Valilik ve Belediye Arşivleri başta olmak üzere diğer kurum ve kuruluşların arşivleri ve yazılı kaynakların yetersiz kaldığı yerlerde ise dönemin olaylarına tanıklık yapmış kişilerden azami derecede yararlanılmaya çalışıldı. Bu tez çalışması giriş bölümü dışında dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Bunlardan Giriş Bölümü"nde;Muğla'nın İlkçağdan Türk hakimiyetine,Menteşe Beyliği'nden Milli Mücadele dönemine ve Milli Mücadele dönemindeki İtalyan işgali ayrıntılarıyla ele alındı. Birinci Bölüm'de;Osmanh Devleti'nin son dönemi ve Cumhuriyet döneminde Muğla'nın idari yapısı ve nüfus özellikleri ele alındı. İkinci Bölüm'de;Muğla'nın sosyal hayatı ve siyasal yapısı incelendi. Bu bölümde Muğla'nın ulaşım yapısı,sağlık alanındaki gelişmeleri,Belediye teşkilatı ve faaliyetleri,kurulan siyasi partiler ve bunların faaliyetleri ayrıntılı bir şekilde incelendi. Üçüncü Bölüm'de;Osmanlı Devleti'nin son döneminden başlayarak Cumhuriyet döneminde Muğla'daki eğitim ve kültürel faaliyetler ve bu amaçla kurulan cemiyet ve dernekler ortaya konuldu. Dördüncü ve Bölümde ise;Muğla'nın Ekonomik yapısı ortaya konuldu. Bu bölümde;Muğla'nın tahıl ve meyve üretimi,el tezgahına dayanan sanayii,orman ve madenleri,ticari yapısı ve ekonomik amaçlı kurulan oda,cemiyet, dernek ve kooperatifler incelendi.

ABSTRACT With the study called“Muğla with its social,political and economic aspects from 1923 to 1960”the social and economi structure during the period mentioned was profoundly studied.During the study,resources such as,primarily,both the local and national media of the stated period,the achieves of Ottoman,of Turkish Republic and of the chief of the General Staff“ATASE”,the libraries of Grand National Assembly,Ankara National Library,İzmir National Library jstanbul Atatürk Library,İstanbul Bayezid Library,and the limited number of publications in Muğla recion,as well as the people who witnessed the that period were made use of. The study consists of four parts including the indroductionJn İndroduction part,m order to give integrity, where the name given to the city came from,the historical position of the city both before and after the reign of Turks and during the independence war,as well as before and after the Ottoman Empire are dealt with.The city's contribution to the struggle for the national independence was touched upon,too. In the fist part,along with the administrational changes and developments during both the periods of Ottoman and Turkish RepubIic,national independence period and the structure of population between 1923 and 1960 were studied.In addition to this,in the population section,infotmation about the population exchange between Turkish immigrants sent from Balkans to Muğla and Greeks sent from Turkey,enabled win the Lausanne Treaty,is Provided. The societies and institutions such as the caravan routes in Muğla,transport by land and sea,the way Muğla was affected by the naturel disasters,health,communication,Turkish Red Cross,Turkish Air Society,as well as the activites organized by the municipalities,sport competitions and the political way of life are among the issues described in detail. The main subjects studied in the second section were the educational activities during the last period of Ottoman Empire follwed by the developments during theİ2 Turkish Republic period,secondary schools,the societies founded for educational purposes and the public Houses,which affected the social and cultural life of the city. And in the final part of the study the economic structure of the city is examined. Furtermore,the industy,mining,and forest industry which are related to agricalture,raising animal and workbenches are examined along with the trading and related associations,cooperatives and trade chambers are studied.
