Özet
Pietizm, Hristiyan din bilimcileri arasında çeşitli akademik yayınlara, araştırma ve kitaplara konu olmuştur. Bu Yüksek Lisans tez çalışması, Hristiyanlık tarihi içinde özgün yapısı ve ayırt edici özellikleri ile öne çıkan Pietizm hareketini konu edinmiştir. Çalışmaya Pietizm'in sözlük ve terim anlamları verilerek başlanmıştır. Hareketin tarihsel ve teolojik kökenleri araştırılmış, ortaya çıkışına sebep olan etkenler üzerinde durulmuştur. Pietist düşüncede ferdiyetçi dindarlık vurgusunun, Hristiyanlık içinde hangi temellere dayandırıldığı işlenmiştir. Pietist akımın Reform hareketleri içindeki yeri belirtilmiştir. Pietizm ile Protestanlık arasındaki ilişki, tarihsel süreç içindeki gelişmeler ve özellikle temsilci figürlerin hayatları ekseninde anlatılmıştır. Bu tez, Reform geleneğini terk etmeyen ana akım Pietizm temel alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Bu tez çalışması üç ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde araştırmanın amacı, önemi, sınırlılıkları, varsayımları ve yöntemi ele alınmış; araştırma soruları açıklanmıştır. Birinci bölümde Pietizm kavramı, tarihsel ve teolojik kökenleri ile birlikte incelenmiştir. Pietizm'in temsilcisi konumunda bulunan kurucu isimleri ele alınmış, bu şahsiyetlerin hareket içerisinde üstlendikleri işlevler ve düşünsel katkıları akademik bir perspektifle değerlendirilmiştir. Pietist hareketin temel özellikleri teorik düzeyde ve pratik yansımaları dikkate alınarak derinlemesine işlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde ise Pietizm'in Hristiyan dünyasındaki yansımaları, farklı Pietist eğilimler ve bu harekete doğrultulan eleştiriler değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda genel bir sonuç ve değerlendirme sunulmuştur.

Pietism has been the subject of numerous academic publications, studies, and books among scholars of Christian theology. This master's thesis focuses on the Pietist movement, which stands out within the history of Christianity due to its distinctive structure and characteristic features. The study begins by providing the lexical and terminological meanings of Pietism. It then examines the historical and theological origins of the movement and discusses the factors that led to its emergence. The emphasis on individual piety within Pietist thought is analyzed in terms of the foundations upon which it is grounded within Christianity. The position of the Pietist movement within the broader context of the Reformation is also addressed. Furthermore, the relationship between Pietism and Protestantism is explored through historical developments, with particular attention given to the lives of representative figures. This thesis is based on mainstream Pietism, which does not depart from the Reformation tradition. This thesis consists of three main chapters. The introduction addresses the purpose, significance, limitations, assumptions, and methodology of the research, and outlines the research questions. The first chapter examines the concept of Pietism along with its historical and theological origins. The founding figures, regarded as representatives of Pietism, are discussed, and their roles within the movement, as well as their intellectual contributions, are evaluated from an academic perspective. The fundamental characteristics of the Pietist movement are analyzed in depth, taking into account both their theoretical dimensions and practical implications. The second chapter evaluates the reflections of Pietism within the Christian world, different Pietist tendencies, and the criticisms directed at the movement. Finally, a general conclusion and overall evaluation are presented based on the findings of the study
