Her Banach daralma dönüşümü süreklidir.
Fixed point theory is one of the most effective tools of modern mathematics, combining analytical precision with topological structure and geometric intuition. A fixed point theorem is a mathematical statement concerned with the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of certain mappings. The origins of fixed point theory date back to the late nineteenth century, particularly to the method of successive approximations used to establish the existence and uniqueness of solutions of differential and integral equations. This method is associated with prominent mathematicians such as Poincaré, Cauchy, Liouville, Lipschitz, Peano and Picard. Metric fixed point theory is a natural subfield of fixed point theory that primarily deals with methods and results involving metric properties. The first fundamental result in this area was obtained by S. Banach in 1922 and is known in the literature as the Banach Contraction Princible or the Picard-Banach-Caccioppoli theorem. This principle not only guarantees the existence of a fixed point of a mapping defined on a complete metric space, but also unlike other fixed point theorems, establishes the uniqueness of the fixed point and provides a method for its determination. This important theorem can be stated as follows:“Let X, d be a complete metric space and let :XX be a mapping. If there exists a constant k 0,1 such that d , kd , for all , X, then the mapping has a unique fixed point in X .”The only significant drawback attributed to the Banach contraction principle is the requirement that the mapping be continuous on its entire domain. In fact, continuity is not assumed in the Banach fixed point theorem. Every Banach contraction mapping is continuous. In order to investigate the existence of fixed points for discontinuous mapping, R. Kannan introduced a weaker contraction condition and obtained a remarkable fixed point result. A Banach contraction mapping is uniformly continuous and the first significant step toward weakening this condition was taken by Kannan. He introduced a new contraction mapping that guarantees the existence of a fixed point without assuming continuity: 1 , , , , 0 2 d k d d k . Due to its wide range of applications, the Banach contraction principle has been generalized over time in main directions. These generalizations have been achieved either by extending the structure of the spaces on which the mappings are defined or by weakening the contractive conditions imposed on the mappings and if necessary, xxiv compensating for this weakening by equipping the space with a sufficiently rich structure. Moreover, many fixed point theorems have been obtained by combining these two approaches or by introducing additional conditions. In the first direction, b metric spaces, partial metric spaces, partial b metric spaces, modular metric spaces, modular b metric spaces, quasi metric spaces and quasi modular metric spaces have been studied. In the second direction, the contributions of Kannan, Chatterjea, Ciric, Reich and Sehgal can be recalled. Although most of these linear contractions do not require the mapping to be continuous on the entire domain, they do require continuity at the fixed point. Motivated by this observation, B. E. Rhoades compared 250 different contraction definitions and showed that while most of them do not require continuity on whole space, all of them force the mapping to be continuous at the fixed point. Inspired by these observations, Rhoades posed the following interesting open problem:“Is there a contraction definition strong enough to guarantee the existence and uniqueness of a fixed point without requiring the mapping to be continuous even at the fixed point?”On the other hand, in order to extend the Banach contraction principle, many researchers aimed to replace the constant contraction coefficient k with a control function satisfying t t for all t 0. Such contractions are generally of the form d , d , and are called nonlinear contractions, while the function is referred to as a control function. Subsequently, many researchers extended the Banach contraction principle by modifying the properties of the control function. D. Wardowski, M. Jleli and B. Samet, J. Matkowski and T. Suzuki obtained more general contraction conditions by employing different types of control functions. This doctoral thesis consists of eight chapters. As generalizations of classical metric spaces, this thesis introduces for the first time partial modular b metric spaces and non-Archimedean symmetric quasi modular metric spaces and investigates their topological properties and fixed point theorems. Initially, generalized versions of several special conditions defined in metric spaces are introduced in different chapters of this thesis for the newly defined spaces. Specific examples are provided to reinforce the results of the theorems proved in these chapters. As applications, the results of the fixed point theorems for different types of mappings in these spaces are used to prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions in homotopy theory, system of Fredholm integral equations, dynamic programming and fractional differential equations. In the introduction, the concept of a fixed point is explained and a summary of related literature is presented. The Banach contraction principle and its generalizations are discussed. In the second chapter, metric spaces and metric fixed point concepts are first explained and the Banach contraction principle and its generalizations are presented without proofs but with illustrative examples. Then, brief definitions of some special functions used in this thesis, as well as mappings involving linear, fractional and quadratic(multiplicative) expressions are given and basic information on the application areas of the Banach contraction principle is provided. Finally, a brief overview of certain generalized metric spaces and fixed point studies conducted in these spaces is presented. xxv In the third chapter, a study on a newly introduced modified interpolative almost E type contractions in partial modular b metric spaces is introduced. The structural and topological properties of partial modular b metric spaces are examined in detail and the notions of convergence, Cauchy sequences and completeness are discussed. Since the partial modular b metric function is not continuous, a lemma is proved to use in situations where this property is required. In partial modular b metric spaces, fixed point theorems are obtained for this new type of contraction that combines interpolative contraction, almost contraction, E type contraction and simulation function properties. An application to homotopy theory is carried out using the results obtained. In the fourth chapter, fixed point theorems and results in the sense of Suzuki-Proinov are obtained in the newly introduced partial modular b metric spaces, contributing to the development of the field. Moreover, original examples and results that do not rely on the continuity of the mapping are presented. Secondly, a fixed point theorem for contraction mapping for contraction mappings involving quadratic expressions is also obtained in these spaces without assuming continuity of the mapping. Finally, the existence and uniqueness of a common solution for systems of Fredholm integral equations are established. In the fifth chapter, newly generalized C type Suzuki contraction mappings are introduced in partial modular b metric spaces and new common fixed point theorems involving quadratic expressions are obtained within this framework. The incorporation of the binary relation into the structure provides a new dimension to fixed point theory from both structural and applicational perspectives. To reinforce the results of the theorem proved, a detailed example is examined. In addition, applications in the fields of dynamic programming and fractional differential equations are presented. In the sixth chapter, a new metric structure called non-Archimedean symmetric quasi modular metric spaces is introduced and examined in detail. This structure offers an approach that weakens symmetry and linearity assumptions under a modular control parameter and unifies and generalizes modular, quasi metric and asymmetric concepts. Moreover, the topology induced by the quasi modular metric and its convergence properties are thoroughly examined and their relationships with classical metric topologies are revealed. In this new space, various Matkowski-type fixed point theorems are obtained under weakened contraction iterations, extending known results to more general and asymmetric settings. Thus, despite the absence of continuity assumptions, the iterations of the mapping converge to a unique fixed point under a Matkowski-type contraction condition. Such behaviour is valid only for quasi modular structures and is not generally observed with classical metric fixed point theory. The space under consideration supports two topologies and 1 forming a bitopological space in the sense of J.C. Kelly. This structure allows convergence and uniqueness results to be obtained under the T0 and T1 separation axioms, even without full symmetry or the Hausdorff separation condition. In classical fixed point theory (for example, in Banach or Sehgal type theorems), the uniqueness and convergence of the fixed point generally require the following conditions: a symmetric (or at least nearly symmetric) distance structure, continuity of the mapping, xxvi the Hausdorff (T2) separation condition to guarantee distinguishability of points. In contrast, under the non-Archimedean symmetric quasi modular structure, these requirements are significantly weakened: convergence is possible even under asymmetry and one sided limits, no continuity assumption is required, even without the T2 property or full symmetry, bidirectional convergence under and 1 is sufficient to ensure the uniqueness of the fixed point. Thus, this framework provides a tool for modeling asymmetric dynamic systems, transport networks and irreversible flows that cannot be captured by classical metric structures. In the seventh chapter, Gornicki-Matkowski type fixed point theorems are obtained under weakened contraction condition in the newly introduced non-Archimedean symmetric quasi modular metric spaces, thereby extending classical fixed point results to asymmetric settings. In the final chapter, the results obtained in this study are summarized and suggestions regarding the applicability of the structures introduced into the literature are presented.
