Özet
Bireylerin güvenlik algısını ve dünyayı duyumsama biçimlerini kökten değiştiren deprem olgusu; fiziksel yıkımın ötesinde, gündelik hayatın ritmini kesintiye uğratan ve duyusal belleği yeniden şekillendiren sarsıcı bir deneyim üretir. Bu süreç, işitme engelli çocuklar özelinde ele alındığında; sesin yokluğu ve iletişimsel engellerle birleşerek çok katmanlı bir travmatik deneyime ve duyusal bir kopuşa dönüşmektedir. Kurumsal mekânların işitme normlarına dayalı hiyerarşik yapısı ile deprem travmasının belirsizliği, işitme engelli çocukta derin bir sosyal izolasyon yaratır. Literatürde“dünyanın en yalnız canlısı”olarak bilinen 52 Hertz balinası metaforu, bu çalışmada çocuğun frekansını kimsenin duyamadığı içsel yalnızlığının bir temsili olarak konumlanır. Sinema sanatı ise çocuğun kurumsal gürültü ve travmatik sessizlik arasında kaybolan iletişim çabasını duyulur kılmanın bir aracı olarak devreye girmektedir. Bu doğrultuda geliştirilen kurmaca kısa film; deprem bölgesinden gelen işitme engelli Daver karakterinin, okulundaki satranç turnuvası ve 52 Hertz balinası imgesi üzerinden kurduğu sembolik dünyayı konu edinir. Film, karakterin travma sonrası yaşadığı mekânsal yabancılaşmayı ve sessizliğin içindeki umut arayışını; özgün ses tasarımı ve görsel atmosferle aktarmayı hedefler. Bu bağlamda proje, depremin gölgesinde kalan sessiz bir deneyimi, estetik ve etik bir yaklaşımla görünür kılma amacını taşımaktadır.

The earthquake phenomenon, which radically alters individuals' sense of security and their modes of sensing the world, produces a shattering experience that interrupts the rhythm of everyday life and reshapes sensory memory beyond mere physical destruction. When considered in the context of hearing-impaired children, this process transforms into a multi-layered traumatic experience and a sensory rupture, combined with the absence of sound and communicative barriers. The uncertainty of earthquake trauma, combined with the hierarchical structure of institutional spaces based on auditory norms, creates deep social isolation in the hearing-impaired child. The metaphor of the“52 Hertz whale,”known in literature as the loneliest creature on earth, is positioned in this study as a representation of the child's inner loneliness, where his frequency cannot be heard by anyone. The art of cinema acts as a medium to render audible the child's communication effort, which gets lost between institutional noise and traumatic silence. The fictional short film developed in this direction focuses on the symbolic world established by Daver, a hearing-impaired character from the earthquake zone, through a chess tournament at his school and the image of the 52 Hertz whale. The film aims to convey the spatial alienation experienced by the character post-trauma and his search for hope within silence through original sound design and visual atmosphere. In this context, the project aims to make visible a silent experience overshadowed by the earthquake with an aesthetic and ethical approach.
