Özet
Bu tez, sürdürülebilir tüketim kapsamında işletmeler tarafından kullanılan çevre dostu paketleme alternatifleri arasından tüketiciler açısından en uygun yöntemin belirlenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Tüketimin artmasıyla paket atıklarının çevresel etkileri sorun haline gelmiş, çevresel hassasiyeti yüksek tüketiciler ve kanuni düzenlemeler işletmeleri çevre dostu paketleme yöntemlerine yönlendirmiştir. Tezin kapsamını Türkiye'de sürdürülebilir tüketim faaliyetlerinde kullanılan çevre dostu paketleme yöntemlerini üretim süreçlerine entegre etmiş işletmeler oluşturmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda işletmelerin sağladığı bu yöntemler belirlenip, tüketiciler açısından çeşitli kriterler dikkate alınarak en uygun yöntemin seçimini sağlayacak çok kriterli karar verme (ÇKKV) yöntemi kullanılmaktadır. Önerilen ÇKKV yöntemi, en uygun yöntemin belirlenmesinde uzman görüşlerinden yararlanmıştır. Araştırmada, işletmelerde görev yapan 10 uzmandan veri toplanmıştır. Uzman görüşlerinde ortaya çıkabilecek dilsel belirsizlikleri azaltmak amacıyla Fermatean bulanık sayılarla entegre edilmiş SWARA-TOPSIS ÇKKV yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Literatürden belirlenen kriterler uzmanlarca değerlendirilerek alternatif paketleme yöntemleri karşılaştırılmış, fayda ve maliyet başlıkları altında ortak ve önerilen kriterler seçilmiştir. Analiz sonucu elde edilen bulgulara göre alternatiflerin sıralanması sonucu en uygun olarak biyobozunur plastik bulunmuştur. Kriterlerde ise paketleme ürünleri seçiminde sadece maliyet değil, fayda kriterlerinin de karar sürecini etkilediği bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçların, işletmelerin karar verme aracını benimseyerek, kurumsal paketleme politikalarını Birleşmiş Milletler Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Amaçları (özellikle 12.) ile uyumlu hale getirmesi ve sorumlu tüketim ile üretim yoluyla uzun vadeli değer yaratılmasına katkı sağlaması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma, sürdürülebilirlik, sürdürülebilir kalkınma amaçları ve döngüsel ekonomi çerçevelerini temel alarak çevre dostu paketlemenin önemini teorik olarak tartışmaktadır.

The principal aim of this dissertation is to establish the best available 'eco-friendly packaging option' for consumers within the context of sustainable consumption patterns. With increasing consumption, the environmental impacts of packaging waste have become a problem, and environmentally conscious consumers and legal regulations have directed businesses toward eco-friendly packaging methods. The scope of this thesis includes businesses in Türkiye that have integrated eco-friendly packaging for sustainable consumption into their production processes. Accordingly, a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) technique is used to select the most suitable method considering the criteria. The proposed MCDM framework relies on expert opinions to determine the optimal method. Data was collected through ten experts in respective sectors. For mitigating language ambiguity embedded in statements of experts, this research work uses a hybrid approach combining Fermatean Fuzzy Sets with SWARA and TOPSIS techniques. Experts rated criteria identified from existing literature; these criteria are categorized into cost and benefit perspectives to prioritize alternatives. Results showed that biodegradable plastics are ranked as the most appropriate choice. Importantly, these findings reveal that not only cost but also criteria focusing on benefits are taken into account during the decision-making procedure. Results are intended for enhanced corporate packaging policies to align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (especially Goal 12) and will thereby contribute to their involvement in the creation of long-term value through responsible consumption and production. This research study theoretically discusses the importance of eco-friendly packaging based on the principles of sustainability, sustainable development goals, and the circular economy.
