Özet
Doğa filozoflarının arkhe arayışındaki temel girişimleri, Antik Yunan mitolojisinden ve toplumun genel kabullerinden uzaklaşarak varlığı yeni bir bakış açısıyla ele almalarıdır. Presokratik dönem öncesinde varlığın kaynağına ilişkin açıklamalar, ontolojik bir yaklaşım çerçevesinde ilahi güçlere dayandırılmaktaydı. Doğa filozofları ise bu anlayışın dışına çıkarak, arkhe'nin kaynağına dair kozmolojik görüşler geliştirmişlerdir. Bununla birlikte, ortaya koydukları düşüncelerin tamamen ontolojiden bağımsız olduğunu söylemek mümkün değildir; zira bu yeni fikirlerde mitolojik ve ontolojik etkilerin izleri görülmektedir. Filozofların arkhe problemine yönelmelerindeki en önemli etken, varlığa dair duydukları meraktır. Ontolojik açıklamalardan tatmin olmayan düşünürler, varlığın kaynağını doğada aramaya yönelmişlerdir. Doğanın çeşitliliği, farklı yorumların ortaya çıkmasına zemin hazırlamış; her filozof kendi gözlemlerinden hareketle özgün bir görüş ileri sürmüştür. Bu görüşlerin doğruluğu kesin olarak belirlenemese de, felsefenin oluşumunda temel bir yapı taşı oldukları açıktır. Arkhe problemine dair farklı yaklaşımların ortaya çıkmasında, gözlemleri şekillendiren derin düşünsel temellerin etkisi bulunmaktadır. Dolayısıyla arkhe problemi, yalnızca gözlemlerin ürünü değil, aynı zamanda bu gözlemleri yönlendiren kültürel ve mitolojik ön kabullerin bir sonucudur.

The fundamental attempt of the natural philosophers in their search for archê was to move away from the mythological narratives of Ancient Greece and the general beliefs of society, and to approach existence from a new perspective. Before the Presocratic period, explanations regarding the origin of being were based on divine powers within an ontological framework. The natural philosophers, however, departed from this understanding and developed cosmological views concerning the source of archê. Nevertheless, it cannot be claimed that their ideas were entirely independent of ontology, since traces of mythological and ontological influences are evident in their thought. The most significant factor that led philosophers to address the problem of archê was their curiosity about existence. Dissatisfied with ontological explanations, they turned to nature in search of the origin of being. The diversity of nature provided a basis for different interpretations, and each philosopher, guided by his own observations, proposed an original view. Although the accuracy of these views cannot be definitively established, it is clear that they constitute a fundamental cornerstone in the formation of philosophy. The emergence of different approaches to the problem of archê was shaped by deeper intellectual foundations that influenced observation. Thus, the problem of archê is not merely the product of empirical observation, but also the result of cultural and mythological presuppositions that guided these observations.
