Özet
Özet Bir Demet Tiyatro örneğinden yola çıkarak toplumsal farklılıkların televizyon komedilerindeki temsilini konu alan bu tez, üç bölümden oluşmaktadır, ilk bölümde toplumsal farklılığın sosyal bilimlerin çeşitli disiplinleri içinde kavramsallaştırılması, son yıllarda politik mücadeleye eklemlenen bir araç haline gelmesi ve medyada toplumsal farklılık temsilleri ele alınmıştır. Tezin kuramsal çerçevesinin haritasını çizmeye yönelik olan bu bölüm, televizyon komedilerinde toplumsal farklılık temsillerini değerlendirirken yararlı olacak kavramları ortaya koyma ve belirgin temsil formlarını açığa çıkarma amacını taşamaktadır. Tezin ikinci bölümünde öncelikle televizyon komedi türünün türsel özellikleri ortaya konulmuş ardından, bu program türü içindeki toplumsal farklılık kategorileri değerlendirilmiştir. Bu türün kaynakları batılı yapımlar olduğu için ikinci bölümde esas olarak türün ABD' deki örnekleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Son bölümde ise, Türkiye'deki televizyon komedileri ve anlatılanndaki farklılık temsilleri ele alınmış ve bu temsillerin anlamlandınlmalan özgün bir örnek ile açımlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bir Demet Tiyatro komedi dizisindeki toplumsal farklılık temsilleri bu tez içerisinde sınıfsal, cinsel, etnik köken ve dinsel farklılıklar olarak başlıca üç temel kategori altında incelenmiştir. Yapılan değerlendirmenin ardından, Bir Demet Tiyatro dizisindeki toplumsal farklılık temsillerinin diğer dizilere oranla yerleşik temsil sistemini sorgulayıcı nitelikte olduğu ancak, bu temsil tarzlarının toplumsal ve politik anlamda muhalif bir eğilimden yoksun olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract This thesis, is upon the representations of social differences in television comedies following the sample of Bir Demet Tiyatro, consists of three parts. In the first part, conceptualization of social differences in main disciplines of social sciences, becoming a tool of the political struggle of various social differences in recent years, and the representations of social differences in media are elaborated This part, tends to map the theoretical framework of the thesis, is an attempt to reveal the main concepts and the dominant forms of representation that are assumed to be functional while elaborating the representations of social differences in television comedies. In the second part of the thesis, firstly the specific properties of the genre of television comedies are exposed and then main categories of the representations of social differences in this genre are described In the last part, television comedies in Turkey, particularly the representations of social differences in these narratives are discussed, and the significance of these representations is expounded with a specific example. The representations of social differences in Bir Demet Tiyatro is examined under three main categories as, class, sexual, ethnic and religion differences. After a general analysis of the representations of the social differences in this example, it is drawn a conclusion that difference representations in Bir Demet Tiyatro do question the current dominant representational regime, comparing with other television comedies, however, the forms of representations in this serial do not explore a social or apolitical oppositional tendency.
